Integration Overview
Opticks is a security platform built for performance marketing. It dissects your traffic and identifies where fraudulent traffic is coming from. This document assumes you already understand the features and benefits of Opticks and will discuss primarily methods of integration for detection services.
There are two ways to integrate Opticks into your traffic flow:
- By including the OpticksJS javascript in the head of your webpage
- As a Firewall whereby traffic and postbacks are sent through the Opticks platform
Which integration method should I use?
There are two main integration methods to choose from when using Opticks: OpticksJS javascript integration (Sensor JS) and Opticks Firewall integration (Sensor Firewall)
- OpticksJS javascript integration: This is the recommended method for advertisers and regular customers who own the website to protect, as it is the one that allows working with platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft or Meta. It just requires adding the Opticks tag in your site manually or via a tag manager such as Google Tag Manager.
- Opticks Firewall integration: This method is for customers such as affiliates or networks and does not require developer resources or control of a landing page. An account manager can configure Opticks and provide a new tracking link to traffic sources.
You can see a small comparative limitations table below:
Feature | Opticks Firewall | OpticksJS |
---|---|---|
Compatible with Google Ads, Meta and other platforms | No | Yes |
Requires control of the page | No | Yes |
Must change url sent to media partners | Yes | No |
Guaranteed blocking of visits | Yes | No |
Ability to analyze conversions | Yes | Yes |
Ability block postbacks | Yes | No |
Server-side customer development | None | Very little |
Even though these are the two main integration methods offered by Opticks, we have others for more particular scenarios. If neither the Firewall or the JS sensors fit your needs, please get in touch with our customer support team at support@optickssecurity.com
