A Traffic Source is simply a way of tracking where your traffic is coming from and storing the Postback URL for when Opticks will need to report post-conversion events or payouts.
- Create Traffic Sources to track from which Ad/Affiliate networks, DSPs or publishers your traffic is coming from
Think of it as a way of labelling your inbound traffic: a visit is coming from X place and in case the user converts Opticks will need to send a postback to X's postback URL.
The way it works is that Opticks creates a unique tracking link for every Campaign you create, and every Campaign is associated with a Traffic Source. You need to send the traffic from each Traffic Source to it's corresponding Opticks tracking link, that way Opticks knows where traffic comes from and it is able to accurately assess the traffic risk levels on the sub-publisher level.
