At Opticks we define a Role as a collection of permissions that are available to a user. Instead of assigning permissions one by one, we have created this collection of the most common use cases to help you get started quickly.
The concept of Role is a typical way of managing permissions in any kind of software. A common Role found everywhere is the Admin one, which have all permissions available by default. Another common role would be a read-only kind of access where the user can access the data but can't manipulate anything related to it.
