Opticks PPC Protection: Linking your Google Ads account
Your Google PPC Campaigns cannot be protected in the same way that you protect other campaigns from fraudulent traffic:
- You cannot block traffic coming from Google, as that could result in Google banning your domain and stopping your adspent.
- You want to block the traffic before the clicks on your ad happen in order to save your adspend.
Opticks PPC protection is the perfect solution for this need. Opticks will upload the IPs of detected fraudulent visits into your Google campaigns IP exclusion list. This will make your ads stop showing to those IPs and you will save the cost of the potential clicks from those fraudulent users.
The integration between Opticks and your Google Ads account takes just a few easy steps.
On Opticks left menu bar, select Google Ads and click on the "Link account" button
In the text box, type your Google Ads customer ID account. If you wish to import multiple accounts, make sure you link your Manager (MCC) account. If for any reason you can't link your MCC, you will be able to add individual accounts later on.
After clicking the "Link" button, all managers from the Google Ads account will receive an email from informing them that there is a pending request to link your Google Ads account. Click the Accept Request button.
Once the request has been accepted, please go back to Opticks and click the "I have accepted" button.
Once that is done, it is time to set up the Tracking Template. If any of your accounts already has a Tracking Template enabled account wide, Opticks will show a warning before overwriting that Tracking Template. You can choose to skip this step by clicking the "Skip" button in the bottom right corner.
If there are no Tracking Templates in your imported accounts, the above warning will not be shown.
You can review the Tracking Template that Opticks is going to use with your account clicking on "See Tracking Template".
Click on "Set Tracking Template" to finish this process.
Once that is done, your Google Ads account will be linked with Opticks.
